Jim Webb: Hillary’s Stealing My Lines!

Jim Webb, a possible Democratic presidential candidate, accussed Hillary Clinton of stealing his lines. Webb made comments on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports.

“Listening to the comments she made yesterday, Ms. Clinton made yesterday, a couple of things struck me.  First, that she started talking about executive compensation and the inequities in our country, the 300-times ratio that people — executive heads make compared to workers,” said Webb, according to a transcript provided by MSNBC.

“I started talking about that nine years ago on the campaign trail.  I mentioned it in my State of the Union response to George W. Bush in ’07.  And what particularly struck me was she was talking —  I listened on the radio on this — about hedge fund managers making millions and millions of dollars and actually paying a lower tax rate than nurses and truck drivers.  And I had to have a chuckle there, because I’ve used that example three different times on the Senate floor and I used it because one of my daughters happens to be a nurse and my son-in-law drives a truck.  So I would say I’m glad she’s over on this side of the issue now.  American workers are needing this kind of voice and they want it from people who really mean it.”
