President Trump is expected to attend a formal ceremony on Capitol Hill for Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch next Thursday, according to a report published Friday evening.
The mile-and-a-half drive to the Supreme Court building will be Trump’s first as president. The ceremony is standard for new Supreme Court justices and will be followed by a brief photo session on the front steps of the building.
The ceremony comes on the same day the nine-member court is expected to have a private meeting, which could broach the administration’s latest travel ban aimed at six Muslim-majority countries, according to Bloomberg. His administration recently asked the Supreme Court to reinstate the ban after being blocked by lower courts.
Gorsuch, who was nominated by Trump, was approved by the Senate in April and was sworn into office soon after passing through the upper chamber.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this article incorrectly said Trump will reportedly huddle with the Supreme Court about his travel ban.
