Pentagon police to conduct live fire test

Pentagon police officials are warning people that they might hear shots fired near the military building this weekend, but there’s nothing to worry about.

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency is planning to conduct a live fire calibration test on Sunday between 6 a.m. and noon. Such exercises are typically done to test gunfire-detection systems.

The test will take place in the Pentagon’s south parking lot.

The agency said people could hear firearms being discharged and see workers with yellow safety vests. Pedestrian and vehicle access might be restricted around the parking lot.
