Fairfax computer glitch makes DMV experience even worse

As if a trip to the DMV wasn’t already up there with a trip to the dentist, a trip to the doctor, and a trip to the in-laws’— all in the same day.

Now, it appears that at the Tysons Corner and Fair Oaks locations in Fairfax County, after waiting in line, dealing with employees who seem rarely to have your best interest at heart, and then waiting in line some more, you can’t even walk home with a new driver’s license.

The cause is a computer glitch, according to the Washington Post. And the computer problems have been going on since Friday.

The problem was not related to the computer problems that struck the DMV last August and September, nor was it related to the problem that interfered with operations at 74 state offices Tuesday, the Post reported.

Frankly, we’re not sure that makes anyone feel any better.
