A man was fatally shot in Southeast D.C. Friday, the fifth homicide in the District in roughly 48 hours.
D.C. police said 45-year-old William Parker, of Capitol Heights, was slain near on the 2700 block of Elvans Road SE. Officers found Parker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at about 8:10 p.m., police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No suspect or motive in the case has been identified.
The slaying comes after four people were killed in D.C. on Wednesday and Thursday. Police said three people were slain and eight were wounded in series of shooting and stabbings across the city during a four-hour span late Wednesday night into early Thursday. Then, Thursday night, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Southeast.
