Clerk shoots and kills man trying to rob convenience store


A San Antonio, Texas, convenience store clerk shot and killed a man who was allegedly attempting to rob the store late Thursday.

The clerk was ringing up the man around 10 p.m. Thursday inside the convenience store at the Circle K gas station on San Pedro Avenue, just north of I-410, when the man allegedly began demanding money and pulled out a gun, according to KENS 5.

The clerk reportedly told police that he shot the man, causing him to fall to the ground. It was when the man tried to reach for his gun that the clerk shot him again.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency responders attempted to revive him. Several gunshot wounds were reportedly identified.

The clerk was taken in for questioning. Charges against him were reportedly not expected.
