LYSANDER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 55-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition after his canoe capsized on a central New York river.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says Gene Mason of Syracuse was canoeing Sunday afternoon on the Seneca River with his 15-year-old stepson and 53-year-old brother-in-law when they overturned in the town of Lysander, outside Syracuse.
Deputies say nearby boaters rescued the teen and the two men.
The boy and the 53-year-old weren’t injured, but deputies say Mason is in critical condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
