At least five missing girls were recovered and 30 men taken into custody after a U.S. Marshals-led task force completed its operation in Louisiana.
The girls rescued were teenagers, aged 14 to 17, and 17 of the 30 men arrested are facing charges of felony sex offender registration violations, according to a press release from the Marshals.
The operation, named “Operation Boo Dat,” occurred between mid-October and Dec. 24, the release noted.

The operation took place outside of New Orleans with the help of the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, the New Orleans Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and USMS New Orleans Task Force.
Two of the girls who were rescued from a Baton Rouge apartment were sisters and “may be victims of adult[s’] felony criminal sexual activities,” the release said.
