New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press conference on his city’s version of the “Green New Deal,” which took place within the lobby of Trump Tower, was mired by the protesters heckling him on Monday.
The protesters held sign reading “Trump 2020” and “Worst mayor ever” as they rode up and down the escalator behind him.

The New York Post reports de Blasio said in response to the protesters, “Clearly, the Trump Organization is a little sensitive to the fact that we’re calling them out for what they are doing to the climate, but we are not backing down.”
His voice became hoarse trying to speak over the shouts and jeers during the 42-minute presser.
The mayor said under the city’s “Green New Deal” emissions standards, the total amount in fines Trump properties would incur will be over $2 million. De Blasio also said he would make his announce his decision this month on if he is going to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
