Capitol rioter seen holding Pelosi’s lectern to host ‘going to prison’ party

A Florida man who was photographed carrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern during the Capitol Hill riot is hosting a “going to prison” party.

Adam Johnson, 36, is set to serve 75 days in prison after pleading guilty to one count of entering or remaining in a restricted building, according to the Bradenton Herald.

“Come help me celebrate my last Friday of freedom before I go to prison for the lamest charge in history,” said a description of the event posted on Facebook, created by Johnson.

The event is scheduled for April 1 at a local restaurant called Caddy’s Bradenton in Bradenton, Florida, where Johnson wrote that there will be boat docks, two large tiki huts, and an outdoor stage complete with “fun for all with lawn games and a sand volleyball court!”

“If this is your first prison party and are wondering what to bring, shivs, files, and phone cards are always appreciated,” Johnson joked in a post under the event, though he later clarified not to bring shivs, a term for a type of knife or razor used by prisoners.

One attendee asked what type of jumpsuit would be the “preferred” attire, to which Johnson responded, “Black and white is better for my skin complexion.”

As of Friday, 41 people have responded that they are going to the event on Facebook.

Johnson is one of dozens who have been arrested on charges stemming from their role at the Capitol on Jan. 6. Rioting on that day led to the destruction of federal property, countless injuries, and the lockdown of the Capitol for several hours.
