Caitlyn Jenner took up Donald Trump’s offer to use the women’s bathroom at a Trump building.
In a video posted to her Facebook account Wednesday night, Jenner headed over to Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York City to use the women’s bathroom.
Last week, the Republican presidential front-runner broke from the common view in the party and said he would be fine with Jenner using any bathroom at Trump Tower. He was responding to the question about “bathroom laws” in North Carolina and Mississippi that prevent transgender people from using the bathroom of their choice.
“Oh my god, a trans woman in New York, I gotta take a pee,” Jenner said in the video outside the five-star, 52-story hotel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. “Last week, Donald Trump said I could take a pee anywhere in a Trump facility, so I am gonna go take a pee in the ladies’ room.”
Jenner asked someone in the lobby where the “ladies room” is, stopped at the men’s room door to remark “not anymore,” and then headed inside the women’s bathroom.
The 66-year-old is seen leaving the bathroom saying, “Okay. Thank you, Donald, really appreciate it. And by the way, Ted [Cruz], nobody got molested.”
Cruz has come out in favor of the so-called bathroom laws. “There is no greater evil than predators, and if the law says that any man, if he chooses can enter a women’s restroom, a little girl’s restroom and stay there and he cannot be removed because he simply says at that moment he feels like a woman, you’re opening the door for predators,” he said.
Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, is a Republican.
