In June 1996, Welch was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The following year, she appeared in the Season Eight finale of Seinfeld.

Welch is also remembered for playing Mrs. Windham Vandermark in the 2001 film Legally Blonde.

In March 2015, Welch took her career in a different direction, launching a line of wigs that she marketed as “fresh, fashion-forward looks. Loads of natural texture and movement. Styles that are more fun than fuss.”

While not very active on social media, her final post on Instagram in 2018 featured a photo of Welch in her final film, How To Be A Latin Lover.

“On the cusp of the New Year, I look back on 2017-18 and the movie, ‘How To Be A Latin Lover,’ where I ended up sandwiched between TWO hunky leading men! Actor, writer & producer, Eugenio Derbez and actor, heart-throb Rob Lowe!! Makes a girl think twice! Conclusion: It’s never possible to have too much of a good thing! Sigh!” Welch wrote.
