‘Pushy’ bus driver no longer with Metro

A Metrobus driver who was videotaped pushing a rider out the door of his bus is no longer working at the transit agency, Metro said. The unnamed driver had been filmed last month pushing the rider off the bus at night, causing concern after media outlets replayed the video. Metro had called the action “unacceptable.” But the man who was pushed out had apparently been drunk or high, stumbled onto the bus, crushed a toddler and a woman in the process, then yelled at his fellow riders and threatened the bus driver, according to City Paper.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said Friday that the agency had completed its investigation, and without providing details, said the driver “no longer works for Metro,.” — Kytja Weir
