‘Star party’ to end Nebraska Astronomy Day event

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The University of Nebraska State Museum of Natural History in Lincoln has scheduled several events to mark Astronomy Day next week.

People who attend the April 20 program will learn about planets, optics, telescopes, physics, robotics, space travel, nanotechnology and more. Mueller Planetarium will present “Lasers in Astronomy” by Prismatic Magic.

The day’s activities will end with an open house “star party” from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Hyde Memorial Observatory in Lincoln’s Holmes Park.

The museum is in Morrill Hall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus.
