‘SNL’ mocks Trump’s insecurities: ‘Loser, everyone hates you’

Saturday Night Live” featured a digital short, from Donald Trump’s perspective, showcasing many of the president-elect’s insecurities.

The segment offers the “SNL” take on how Trump copes with criticism from all sides, which seemingly hurts the incoming president’s ego so much that it spurs him to make erratic tweets and shrinks his hands.

The hands return to normal size in response to reassuring words from his wife Melania (“I am lucky woman. Melania looks beautiful for you.”)

Trump’s vice president-elect, Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) shows up, and speaks in slow, simple phrases, which seem intended not to overwhelm Trump.

“Duty. Focus. Other people. Other people not Trump,” Bennett says.

Kellyanne Conway, portrayed by Kate McKinnon, then introduces Trump to an avid fan, who grasps his hand and declares he can’t wait for Trump to “fix” him.

“Hollywood models are not your people. I am your people,” the fan said, as Trump’s vision turns read and his heart can be heard pounding.

Sweeping in to Trump’s side, McKinnon speaks softly to her boss, coaxing him to calm down.

“Calm. Calm. Kellyanne will fix it. Mommy does everything. Mommy lives for you,” McKinnon says, before urging him to sleep and think of his favorite dream.

This dream starts with Trump’s view of a staircare, on which stands “SNL” host, WWE wrestler John Cena, dressed up as a young-looking Trump.

Cena is ushered over, and the two clasp each other’s hands, and Cena says “I love you.”

After the two dance, the point of view turns to a mirror to reveal two identical Trump-Cenas standing abreast.

In a promo on social media, “SNL” took another jab at Trump’s hand size, sharing a GIF of Cena holding up large prop hands in the mirror.
