UGA museum to exhibit artists including Warhol

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia plans to host an exhibition of works by notable artists, including Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.

The print portfolio known as “The New York Collection for Stockholm” is set to run Aug. 18 through Nov. 3. The museum recently bought the portfolio for its permanent collection.

In addition to Warhol and Lichtenstein, the portfolio includes works by Jim Dine, Mark di Suvero, Dan Flavin, Red Grooms, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol LeWitt, Claes Oldenburg, Nam June Paik, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra and Cy Twombly.

The portfolio was assembled in the early 1970s as a collection of works by American contemporary artists for the Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
