Police are investigating the death of a man who suffered multiple stab wounds before causing a car crash in Glen Burnie.
The man, 39-year-old Lamonte Sherman, of Aberdeen, drove over the curb and struck a tree near Americana Circle and Ritchie Highway, then swerved into an ice cream shop parking lot and hit two people, according to Anne Arundel County police. The crash happened at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Sherman had injuries to his upper torso that were inconsistent with the crash and authorities believe he was stabbed prior to the accident. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Sherman’s body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy but police said they are investigating his death as a homicide.
The two people who were struck in the Ann’s Dairi Creme parking lot were treated for minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-222-3413.
