Former President Donald Trump rang in 2023 with his annual New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago resort alongside family and close political allies.
The 2024 candidate began the night by striding down the red carpet with his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, speaking to reporters briefly about the state of the world, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Notably, his children Donald Jr. and Ivanka, both of whom were prominent in his 2016 and 2020 campaigns, weren’t spotted at the event, while his son Eric was. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, entrepreneur Mike Lindell, and pollster Dick Morris, all prominent members of Trump’s inner circle, were spotted at the event. Hundreds of others attended the event as well.

On the red carpet, Trump commented on the war in Ukraine, his 2024 chances, and the economy but avoided questions about Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Jan. 6.
“I think we’re doing really well,” Trump said of his campaign. “We got some poll numbers yesterday that were fantastic. We’re going to do very well with Make America Great Again. It’s very simple, Make America Great Again.”
He went on to discuss two central issues of his campaign: immigration and the economy.
“We need a strong border, and we need it now,” he said. “We also have to bring back the economy … with inflation destroying our country.”
