President Trump questioned if it was “highly illegal” that Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., joked about information only he and special counsel Robert Mueller knew at an event last week.
“Why is Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), perhaps in a near drunken state, claiming he has information that only he and Bob Mueller, the leader of the 13 Angry Democrats on a Witch Hunt, knows? Isn’t this highly illegal. Is it being investigated?” Trump tweeted Monday evening, ahead of an appearance at a rally in South Carolina.

Warner claimed Monday that he was joking when he told people attending a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee event that they should “buckle up” for more details concerning the ongoing Russia probe to determine if the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin in the 2016 election.
“If you get me one more glass of wine, I’ll tell you stuff only Bob Mueller and I know. If you think you’ve seen wild stuff so far, buckle up. It’s going to be a wild couple of months,” the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee was quoted as saying Friday during the DSCC’s annual Majority Trust retreat in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., according to Politico over the weekend.
Trump has criticized Mueller’s investigation repeatedly and has called it a “witch hunt.” He has also fervently denied that any collusion occurred during the campaign.
