House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., raised just under $10 million in the second quarter for House Republicans, transferring $4 million of that to the National Congressional Campaign Committee.
Ryan, who is stepping down as speaker and retiring at year’s end, has been a prolific fundraiser, accumulating cash through his network for the NRCC and directing big Republican donors toward Congressional Leadership Fund, the House GOP super PAC.

Some Republicans questioned whether Ryan could maintain his torrid fundraising pace as a lame-duck speaker. His performance has been solid enough to keep any critics at bay. During the three-month period ending June 30, Ryan traveled to California, Illinois, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and campaigned on behalf of GOP candidates in California’s Central Valley, Southern Ohio, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
