Bill Kristol joined MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Thursday morning and responded to Donald Trump’s refusal at the debate the previous night to say he would accept the results of the presidential election.
“Practically speaking, in the next two-and-a-half weeks Republicans need to say that the election is legitimate and Democratic,” Kristol said. “This is the key, though, the people who support Trump need to say this because Trump will get 40 million votes…and there can be danger if those voters think the election is rigged.”
He continued. “We need to say as a country that the election is legitimate and that we need to abide by the election results,” Kristol said. “If Donald Trump wants to be a sore loser on November 8, he can be a sore loser. The key is to ignore him.”
