Trump camp to GOP: Support Trump or ‘shut the hell up’

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign wants Republicans who cannot bring themselves to support Trump to “just shut the hell up.”

“The leadership of the Republican Party needs to figure out what they want,” Trump campaign co-chairman and policy adviser Sam Clovis told CNN. “Either they want to get behind the presumptive nominee — who will be the nominee of this party — and make sure that we do everything we can to win in November, or we’re just asking them if they can’t do that then just shut the hell up.”

Elected Republicans nationwide have expressed growing frustration with Trump, as next month’s GOP convention in Ohio approaches. House Speaker Paul Ryan and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are among the elected Republicans who have grown frustrated with Trump or criticized him in the past week. Other Republicans are refusing to vote for Trump, such as Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, or have rescinded support for Trump, such as Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk.
