WATCH: Piers Morgan says Trump interview edit was ‘exciting,’ how Trump ‘would’ve done it’

Piers Morgan, a former Good Morning Britain host and the current host of Piers Morgan Uncensored on Fox Nation, admitted that the promo video for his interview with former President Donald Trump was intentionally edited to appear “exciting.”

“I did that promo exactly how he would’ve done it. The reason I know that is I first met him on Celebrity Apprentice,” Morgan chuckled, referencing Trump’s influence on his career. “On Celebrity Apprentice, that’s what he did to me every night, so I tried to make the promos as exciting as possible.”

Morgan appeared on Fox News’s Hannity Monday night to defend the promo video that Trump has since blasted for appearing to show the former president storming off the interview set.

“Piers Morgan, like the rest of the Fake News Media, attempted to unlawfully and deceptively edit his long and tedious interview with me,” Trump said in a statement released by his Save America PAC. “He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit of 20 minutes went over by an hour.”

During the interview, Trump took issue with Morgan over 2020 election fraud, calling Morgan a “fool” for not believing that the election was stolen.

Morgan told Hannity that he believes the interview, which will air on Fox Nation Tuesday, portrays Trump “in a very good light.”

“I think when President Donald Trump watches the whole interview, actually, he’ll calm down,” Morgan said. “I suspect he’ll give me a call, and he’ll thank me for, I think, one of the best interviews he’s given in a very long time.”
