A new poll released this week shows Gov. Tom Corbett, R-Pa., may be gaining ground on his Democratic challenger, Tom Wolf.
The poll, released by Keystone Report, shows Wolf with a 12-point lead over Corbett and while that may seem like bad news for the governor, consider where he started.
Following the Democratic primary in May, Wolf opened up a 20-plus point lead on Corbett. Helped by Corbett’s dismal approval ratings and Wolf’s own campaign barrage, the election looked headed toward a blowout. But Corbett has rebounded, pulling within 12 points of Wolf in this latest poll and within 9 points in a New York Times/ CBS poll released in July.
