An American flag was found on fire early Saturday at Mattie Stepanek park in Rockville, according to Montgomery County fire and rescue authorities.
Assistant Chief Scott Graham said fire crews found an ignitable liquid near the large flag at the park, located at 1800 Piccard Drive.
No one was injured, Graham said. He said authorities are still looking for the person responsible for setting the blaze. Anyone with information is asked to call the fire department’s arson tip line at 240-777-2263.
