Bill Clinton appears to nod off during Biden’s inaugural address

Former President Bill Clinton appeared to nod off during President Biden’s inaugural address.

A short video clip showed Biden talking about “duty” and “responsibility” as the camera panned to the 74-year-old former president, who appeared to have his eyes closed while everyone around him did not.

Clinton was seated next to his wife, Hillary Clinton, and behind former Vice President Mike Pence and former President George W. Bush.

Clinton has a history of appearing to catch naps with less than ideal timing, perhaps most notably when he was caught with his eyes closed during a 2008 memorial speech for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

During the 2016 campaign, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump accused Clinton of falling asleep during one of his wife’s campaign speeches.

“Even Bill Clinton is tired of the lies, SAD!” Trump tweeted, with a link to an Instagram video.

Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, focusing his inaugural address on uniting the country after a bitter campaign against Trump.

“This is our historic moment of crisis and challenge, and unity is the path forward, and we must meet this moment as the United States of America,” Biden said during the address. “If we do that, I guarantee you, we will not fail.
