Melania and Barron Trump are set to make the move to Washington, D.C., on June 14, according to a report on Wednesday.
Melania Trump returned to Trump’s New York residence in Trump Tower after the presidential inauguration to allow Barron to finish up the school year. Now that the school year has come to an end the first lady and son are making the permanent move to Washington, Politico reported.
“Her presence is not going to stop any investigations, but at a time when this particular presidency needs an air of stability, it might lend that,” Katherine Jellison, an Ohio University professor with a focus on first lady studies told Politico. “The move helps to give the impressions that the president is currently in a stable, solid marriage and that his home life is under control.”
The much-anticipated move into the White House brings about speculation on whether the president’s social media habits will change.
Annie Karni, Politico’s White House reporter, tweeted that a source told her the reason Trump was less active on Twitter during his trip abroad, was due to the presence of the first lady.
I’ve been told a factor in the lack of tweeting abroad overall was the presence of Melania Trump. https://t.co/iY8LvBcRWP

“She is a strong influence and personality, and I think she comforts him,” Sam Nunberg, a former Trump campaign aide said in the Politico report.
