Donald Trump announced he was delaying an expected Friday announcement of his vice presidential pick that was slated to take place in New York. Trump made the announcement on Twitter:
In light of the horrible attack in Nice, France, I have postponed tomorrow’s news conference concerning my Vice Presidential announcement.

Indiana governor Mike Pence is reported to be Trump’s choice, as confirmed by numerous news outlets. The Trump campaign has yet to make that announcement official. Pence has been running for another term as governor of Indiana, and Friday is the deadline for Republicans to put into motion a plan to replace his name on the ballot.
The announcement comes Thursday evening as Nice, France, suffered an apparent terrorist attack. People there celebrating Bastille Day were run over by a truck moving at a high rate of speed. French authorities have told reporters that the suspect has been “neutralized.”
Before announcing the delay, Trump weighed in on the attack:
Another horrific attack, this time in Nice, France. Many dead and injured. When will we learn? It is only getting worse.
