Explosive device detonated at Potomac home

Authorities are investigating an “explosive device” that was detonated at a Potomac home.

The exact type of device is still unknown, according to Scott Graham, assistant chief for Montgomery County fire and rescue. He said the hazardous materials crews found the device placed on the front of a home on the 9200 block of Inglewood Drive after it went off at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews also smelled an unusual odor when they arrived at the scene. Police and fire and rescue teams are still investigating the type of the device and how it got on the home.
