White House adviser Jared Kushner said he didn’t know whether the election would be postponed if the coronavirus outbreak doesn’t weaken by November.
Kushner was asked Tuesday whether there’s any scenario related to the coronavirus that would lead to a postponement of Election Day.
“That’s too far in the future to tell. Nothing that I’m aware of now,” he told Time. “It’s not my decision to make, so I’m not sure I can commit one way or the other.”
“Right now, that’s the plan,” President Trump’s son-in-law said of holding the elections as scheduled.
Trump denied last month that he would try to postpone the 2020 presidential election after his Democratic rival Joe Biden argued he would.
“I never even thought of changing the date of the election. Why would I do that? Nov. 3. It’s a good number. No, I look forward to that election,” Trump said, calling the assertion “made up propaganda.”
Kushner said Trump is “looking forward” to debating Biden.
