Activist veterans who support President Trump’s impeachment released video of them following Rep. Dan Crenshaw around the congressional office buildings attempting to ask him about his support of the president.
“How can you let a criminal like Donald Trump run roughshod over our democracy and shred everything that you and I fought for?” one of the activists said in the two-minute video released Thursday by the group Common Defense, which labels itself as an organization “mobilizing against Trump and his dangerous agenda.”
“I know you’re here to make a video,” the Texas Republican responded as the man continued to talk over him.
“You haven’t made one actual point,” Crenshaw said.
“Read the Mueller report,” the man said, before the congressman responded that he had.
“There are 10 impeachable obstruction offenses,” the man said as he pounded his fist against his hand and Crenshaw boarded an elevator. The man speaking to him quickly followed suit.
Crenshaw protested, pointing out the elevator was members only and saying the man clearly did not want to have an actual “conversation.”
“As veterans we need to be smarter about how we talk about things,” Crenshaw said.
“I thought we were going to have a real conversation for a second,” he said, sarcastically, as it initially appeared the cameraman was not going to board the elevator.
The video then cuts to the two arguing in the elevator before ending with the activist shouting at Crenshaw as he walks away.
GOP Rep @DanCrenshawTX hid in an elevator today when combat vets confronted him about his support for Donald Trump.
