SAN FRANCISCO — Leaders of a nonprofit hospital network in New York City said they’re deeply concerned about Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare, including its Medicaid expansion.
The prospect of repeal is “uppermost” in his mind, New York Presbyterian Healthcare System CEO Steven Corwin said Tuesday at the JPMorgan Healthcare Investor Conference.
“As we’re talking about rollbacks in Medicaid expansion, rollbacks in funding, this is something that is uppermost in our minds,” Corwin said.
About 30 percent of the network’s patients are on Medicaid, Corwin said.
Congress is working toward legislation to repeal big parts of the Affordable Care Act. Republican leaders haven’t promised that it will include a repeal of the law’s Medicaid expansion, but a practice bill they passed last year did gradually reduce its extra funding.
