Trump’s ‘body man’ to leave White House post

One of President Trump’s closest aides will soon be departing his post at the White House.

Jordan Karem, Trump’s body man, is expected to leave his position around the start of the new year and will eventually return to the private sector.

As deputy assistant to the president and director of Oval Office operations, a position he’s held since March, Karem is the first White House official who meets Trump in the morning and the last to see the president at night.

“Jordan Karem is a great guy who I have gotten to know well over the last several years. He was with me from the beginning and I appreciate his loyalty and his commitment to my administration,” Trump said in a statement. “He did an excellent job working with me and my team. I know he will do many great things in the future.”

Karem, 37, joined the Trump campaign in July 2015 and has been one of the president’s longest-serving aides.

Karem told colleagues he intended to leave the White House between this month’s midterm elections and the beginning of the new year and is looking to start a family with his new wife, Bianca.

After joining the Trump campaign in its early stages, Karem served as press director for Vice President Mike Pence after the then-Indiana governor was chosen to be Trump’s running mate. Following Trump’s inauguration, Karem went on to serve as special assistant to the president and deputy director of advance at the White House.
