President-elect Trump denied he hired prostitutes to urinate on the bed President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama once slept on in Moscow, suggesting he wouldn’t do such a thing because he is a germaphobe.
The allegation was perhaps the most salacious personal detail included in a 35-page report on Trump’s connections with the Russian government, which included allegations that the campaign and Russian officials worked together to defeat Hillary Clinton.
Trump said he’s very careful about what he does in hotel rooms when he travels abroad because he thinks he’s being watched.
“Does anyone really believe that story?” Trump said. “I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way.”
That allegation was included in an unverified report published by BuzzFeed Tuesday evening that was reportedly written by a former British intelligence officer, although even BuzzFeed has said the report cannot be verified.
The document detailed alleged connections between the Trump campaign and Russia, and alleged that Russia had compromising details on the president-elect.
Trump has denied the Russians have any incriminating information on him and the Kremlin echoed that statement Wednesday morning.
According to the unverified report, the incident took place when Trump traveled to Moscow in 2013 and stayed in the Ritz Carlton’s presidential suite in the city. Obama and his wife had once stayed in the same room during a previous visit to the city and, according to unverified claims, the incident was Trump’s way of denigrating a political enemy.
