House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler went after both President Trump and his own Democratic colleagues Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, condemning growing anti-Semitism.
A Jewish congressman from New York, Nadler attacked Trump via Twitter for saying that Jews who vote for Democrats show “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.” Nadler also hit Tlaib of Michigan and Omar of Minnesota for posting a cartoon to their Instagram stories that showed a cartoon widely regarded as anti-Semitic.
“The growing anti-Semitism in our political dialogue is repugnant. @realdonaldtrump’s comments about disloyalty are a vicious and dangerous anti-Semitic trope. And the Carlos Latuff cartoon forwarded by @RepRashida and @Ilhan can surely be read for its vile underlying message,” the 72-year-old Democratic congressman tweeted Thursday.

Trump faced blowback for the remarks and also generated further controversy when he thanked Newsmax TV host Wayne Allyn Root for saying that “Jewish people love him like he is the King of Israel” and the “second coming of God.”
Tlaib and Omar were condemned for posting a cartoon drawn by Carlos Latuff, who has a history of anti-Semitic work, which depicted the two congresswomen being silenced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump.
