Trump camp’s new insult: ‘Sellout Warren’

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign blasted Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s decision to stump with Hillary Clinton in Ohio as a treacherous move that spurns progressive voters.

Clinton and Warren campaigned together in Cincinnati on Monday and each took turns jabbing at Trump. The presumptive GOP nominee is headed to Ohio on Tuesday, but his campaign decided not to wait to trash the senator as “Sellout Warren.”

“As Clinton tries to salvage support among the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democrat Party, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has become a turncoat for the causes she supposedly supports,” the campaign said in a statement. “Warren’s campaigning for Clinton stands in stark contrast to the liberal ideals she once practiced. This sad attempt at pandering to the Sanders wing is another example of a typical political calculation by D.C. insiders.”

Trump often brands his political opponents with two-syllable insults, such as “Crooked Hillary” Clinton, “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, and “Little Marco” Rubio. But the presumptive GOP nominee has repeatedly called Warren “Pocahontas” in an effort to draw attention to her claims of Native American heritage.

Warren is reportedly on the shortlist of contenders for Clinton’s vice presidential running spot. If selected, the Democrats would boast an all-female Democratic ticket against Trump as the campaign heads toward the fall.
