Fifty-seven percent of voters think that locking down the country did more harm than good, a national poll found.
This belief in lockdowns doing more harm than good has grown, as a majority of voters held the opposite view in May 2020, according to a survey by Scott Rasmussen.

Thirty-six percent disagree that the lockdowns did more harm than good, and 17% are not sure.
Thirty-two percent strongly agree the lockdowns did more harm than good, and Rasmussen wrote that “Republicans overwhelmingly think the lockdowns did more harm than good.”
Most Democrats, 52%, take the opposite view, but there is a divide in demographics. Most white Democrats, 58%, reject the idea that the lockdowns did more harm than good, while 51% of black Democrats agree that the lockdowns did more harm than good.

The poll was conducted between Friday and Sunday among 1,200 registered voters and did not include a margin of error.
