A lawyer from the Trump Organization has been linked to the legal effort to silence ex-porn star Stormy Daniels from speaking out about her alleged affair with President Trump.
Trump Organization attorney Jill Martin is listed as counsel in an arbitration demand for the company formed by Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen to pay Stormy Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, $130,000 in exchange for her silence, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The company, Essential Consultants LLC, filed arbitration documents in Orange County, Calif., on Feb. 22, with Martin listed as the attorney representing them and Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles as her address.
The new revelation connecting a second Trump attorney to the legal efforts contradicts Cohen’s prior claim that the Trump Organization and the Trump campaign had nothing to do with the transaction to Daniels.
According to Martin’s LinkedIn page, she serves as vice president and assistant general counsel at the Trump Organization.
The company told the Wall Street Journal that Martin was working in a “individual capacity” until they could find a New York-based lawyer who could work in California, adding they had no involvement in the matter.
Cohen and the White House have not publicly commented on the report.
