The NRSC raised $10.1 million during the first two weeks of October and reported $10 million in the bank as of Oct. 15 to spend on the homestretch of the battle for control of the Senate, committee officials told the Washington Examiner.
The $10.1 million figure included a $4 million transfer from the Republican National Committee.
The NRSC, the Senate Republican campaign arm formerly known as the National Republican Senatorial Committee, had struggled for most of the cycle to compete with the Democrats in the chase for campaign cash. But the NRSC and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee were near parity in September, with the GOP committee raising $15.5 million and the DSCC bringing in $16 million.
September was the best fundraising month for the NRSC in the history of the organization. Republicans are gunning to flip six Democratic-held Senate seats on Nov. 4, the number they need to assume control of the chamber in January.
