President Trump said that watching football games where players kneel during the national anthem is better than watching Fox News’s daytime lineup.
“.@FoxNews daytime is not watchable. In a class with CNN & MSDNC. Check out @OANN, @newsmax and others that are picking up the slack. Even a boring football game, kneeling and all, is better!” the president tweeted Sunday afternoon.

Trump has been vocal with his dislike of Fox News after the network called Arizona in President-elect Joe Biden’s favor ahead of other networks on election night. He has since criticized Fox and said that people should instead watch alternatives such as One America News Network and Newsmax.
“.@FoxNews daytime is virtually unwatchable, especially during the weekends. Watch @OANN, @newsmax, or almost anything else. You won’t have to suffer through endless interviews with Democrats, and even worse!” he tweeted last weekend.

Newsmax has grown its viewership since the election. The network averaged 58,000 viewers from 7 to 10 p.m. on weekdays from July to before the election and jumped to 568,000 average viewers after the election.
However, Fox News’s prime-time stars powered the network to have its highest-rated November ever last month.
Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity both broke records in ratings last month, while Laura Ingraham continued besting other female cable news hosts, holding on to her title as the highest-rated female host in cable news.
“FOX News Channel (FNC) finished the month of November as the most-watched cable network in both total day and primetime total viewers (Persons 2+), notching 53 months in a row in the top spot across all of basic cable in total day,” a Fox News press release said.
Trump’s Sunday tweet comes after he has long criticized the NFL for players who kneel during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality.
“Any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!” Trump wrote in July, amid protests following the death of George Floyd.
Looking forward to live sports, but any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!
