Democrats renew call for suspending Jared Kushner’s security clearance

Democrats renewed calls for Jared Kushner’s security clearance to be suspended amid reports he is currently under investigation as part of the FBI’s probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election.

On Thursday night, the Democratic National Committee released a statement calling for the suspension of Kushner’s security clearance because the investigation has “reached Trump’s backyard, and now it’s in his house.”

Investigators said Kushner is not suspected of committing a crime but has critical information related to the probe, according to an NBC News report.

The senior adviser and son-in-law of President Trump has been a source of speculation in connection with the Russia probe for months.

In April, a group of House Democrats demanded the government suspend Kushner’s security clearance.

Kushner failed to disclose meetings with Russian officials held during the transition period on security clearance forms.
