Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., couldn’t contain his excitement Friday after the Minneapolis City Council approved a $15 minimum wage and broke out in song.
In a video posted to Ellison’s Twitter feed, the Minnesota Democrat and chair of the House Progressive Caucus is shown playing a cover of “Money (That’s What I Want)” to celebrate the passage of the new minimum wage.
The Minneapolis City Council just approved raising the minimum wage to $15! That’s such good news, I had to sing a song to celebrate. pic.twitter.com/puxBV8lA7G— Rep. Keith Ellison (@keithellison) June 30, 2017
The $15 minimum wage will fully kick in by 2024 as Minneapolis becomes the latest major city, along with Seattle and San Francisco, to approve the increase.
