Sheriffs seek gas station robber

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a suspect in the armed robbery of a gas station.

A man approached the cashier at Plaza Shell at 3185 Crain Highway in Waldorf on Monday. After the man displayed a gun, the cashier handed over money and the keys to his car that the robber demanded, sheriff’s officials said. The car was later found abandoned less than a mile from the station. The suspect is described as a white man with green eyes between the ages of 40 and 50. He was wearing a purple Reebok jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, authorities said. Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 301-932-7777 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Tipsters with information leading to an arrest or indictment could receive a reward of up to $1,000. — Naomi Jagoda
