South Korea’s government said Monday it has seen evidence that North Korea is preparing more missile launches, and may test another intercontinental ballistic missile.
Chang Kyung-soo, a South Korean defense ministry official, told parliament: “We have continued to see signs of possibly more ballistic missile launches. We also forecast North Korea could fire an intercontinental ballistic missile [ICBM],” according to the BBC.
North Korea claims it detonated a hydrogen bomb on Sunday, and has conducted several missile launches over recent months, including of an intercontinental ballistic missile that experts say has the potential to reach the U.S.
The United Nations Security Council is holding an emergency meeting Monday morning to devise its response to North Korea’s nuclear test.
