“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert released his own “tape” of a meltdown similar to the outtakes that leaked of MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell lambasting his production crew and complaining about noises in his ear piece.
“As a broadcaster, I sincerely feel for Lawrence O’Donnell in this clip. Hosting a television show is extremely stressful,” Colbert said on his show Thursday after showing clips of O’Donnell’s tirade. He added that it’s hard to perform with any distractions going on.
After saying, “this can happen to the best of us,” Colbert introduced a “meltdown” skit of his own, “in solidarity” with O’Donnell “and just to get ahead of the story before it breaks.”
