MLK’s niece Alveda King says she voted for Trump

The niece of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. said Monday she voted for Donald Trump for president.

Alveda King acknowledged her vote in a statement to the American Thinker blog. King spoke positively of Trump during the presidential race and is a Republican and pro-life activist.

The blog asked King if she believes Trump will be a pro-life president.

“I pray that all polar opposites learn to agape love, live and work together as brothers and sisters — or perish as fools. While I voted for Mr. Trump, my confidence remains in God, for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” King replied.

Monday is the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday.
