Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, touted what he called a “nationwide movement to take our country back” as Democrats came out the victors in two critical elections on Tuesday, including the Virginia gubernatorial contest.
“I am not sick of winning at all,” Schatz said on Twitter Tuesday night, a jab at Trump, who touted on the campaign trail that the U.S. would win so much under his leadership, that Americans would be “sick” of winning.

“Don’t let anyone talk you out of it. There’s a nationwide movement to take our country back,” he said in a series of separate tweets. “I hope they keep running against football, statues, and MS-13, while we focus on real people’s lives.”

Democrats Ralph Northam of Virginia and Phil Murphy of New Jersey both won their respective gubernatorial elections on Tuesday night.
Trump had supported Northam’s challenger, Ed Gillespie. He had criticized Northam for his positions on crime and the economy.
“Ralph Northam will allow crime to be rampant in Virginia. He’s weak on crime, weak on our GREAT VETS. Anti-Second Amendment … and has been horrible on Virginia economy. Vote @EdWGillespie today!” Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. “@EdWGillespie will totally turn around the high crime and poor economic performance of VA. MS-13 and crime will be gone. Vote today, ASAP!”
