Model and liberal activist Chrissy Teigen said she plans to donate $200,000 to bail out protesters arrested after demonstrating against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
Teigen initially said on Saturday that she would donate $100,000 to help bail out the people from jail.
“In celebration of whatever the fuck maga night is, I am committed to donating $100,000 to the bail outs of protestors across the country,” she tweeted, referencing President Trump’s call for a “MAGA night at the White House” after Secret Service agents contained protesters outside of the residence on Friday.

Another Twitter user responded to Teigen in a now-deleted message, calling the protesters are “rioters and criminals,” which prompted the model to up the ante on how much she will donate.
“Ooo they might need more money then. Make it $200,000,” she wrote.

Riots have taken place in major cities across the country in the last few days. Thousands have looted stores, burned police cars, and caused other destruction in protest of Floyd’s death in police custody. The 46-year-old unarmed black man died after being pinned down by a white police officer who placed his knee on the back of Floyd’s neck for several minutes last week. The officer faces charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter.
Nearly 1,700 people have been arrested since last week in connection to the protests, according to CBS News.
