A$AP Rocky released from jail pending verdict in Swedish assault trial

Rapper A$AP Rocky has been released from a Swedish prison following his arrest for allegedly hitting someone with a bottle.

The other two defendants in the assault case have also been released. TMZ reports the verdict is expected to come on August 14. The judge disagreed with prosecutors that A$AP Rocky was a flight risk.

A$AP posted a message on his Instagram, thanking fans and supporters. “I CANT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR ALL OF YOU THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT AND HUMBLING EXPERIENCE,” he wrote, further thanking the court for releasing him.

President Trump, who has been advocating for his freedom, tweeted about the musician’s release.

“I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky, but I can tell you that he has tremendous support from the African American community in this country,” Trump told reporters in July. “And when I say African American, I think I can really say from everybody in this country, because we’re all one.”

A$AP Rocky thanked friends, family, and fans for their support in an Instagram post.
