Sen. Thom Tillis said he was “ready” for the highly anticipated lunch meeting with Trump and Republican senators after a morning of fierce Twitter drama between Sen. Bob Corker and the White House.
Tillis posted tweeted a picture of himself grabbing some popcorn with the caption: “Ready for lunch with POTUS and @SenateGOP.”

Many Twitter users took this as a quirky, subtle message implying the North Carolina senator is ready for more drama to unfold after the president and Corker made themselves the center of yet another Twitter feud early Tuesday morning.
One user wrote, “Want to know how this meeting with POTUS and GOP Senators will go? Let the image speak for itself.”
When a reporter stopped the senator and asked if the popcorn in his hand was for the Trump-Corker feud, he replied, “yes!”
In recent weeks, the president has made Sen. Corker his public punching bag, claiming that he is a “lightweight senator” and against GOP-led tax cuts. The two are expected to discuss tax reform further over lunch.
